WCE Nor Cal All-Star Clinic

Last Saturday I made my way out to Harvest Park Middle School in Pleasanton California, to participate in the WCE Nor Cal All-Star Clinic. This was an opportunity for me to further evaluate Nor Cal Players, and to evaluate new prospects. Here's a list of prospects who I thought stood out.

Anthony Roy 6'4 2020 Dublin HS.

Roy is an athletic wing that can handle in the open court, a good passer. He can also finish with authority, he had several dunks in the open court. A decent mid range game with the potential to be a tough player to guard.

Jamir Thomas 5'11 2020 Berkeley HS.

Has that quick twitch working for him, has the potential to be a top point guard in Nor Cal. He has quick hands and feet. He can attack and finish or he can knock down a 3 shot. He is an above average on ball defender.

Obadiah Curtis 6'3 2020 Edison HS

My first opportunity to see this prospect. He's a smooth player, with a nice mid range game and the ability to go hard to the rim and dunk. A good wing player who can score on his own and knock down the 3 on the move.

Makhi Goodspeed 5'7 2020 San Leandro HS.

A speedy hard to stay in front of point guard. A real problem in the open court with his passing and speed. Can also hit the 3pt shot.

D'aunte Johnson 6'7 2021 Moreau Catholic HS.

This prospect can be one of the top Nor Cal Players when he's finished. He's still working on his skill set. He's a natural shot blocker, he should get 10 rebounds a game in high school. His stock will go up when he starts finishing around the basket. He's been working on his handles, had some nice moments when he rebounded and pushed the ball in transition, his mid-range and 3pt shooting are still being developed.

Omari Davis 6'0 2021 Vanden HS

This could be a breakout summer for this prospect. He showed me his quality handles, his ability to attack and create his own scoring opportunities and a good looking 3 pt shooting form and range. His mid-range game will improve. Solid performer on this day.

Robert Valhola 6'5 2021 Hillsdale HS.

A strong looking body who can do more in the post area. He can get rebounds and showed he can be a scorer in the post area. He defends the post area. Has time to learn to play with energy.

Lee Hubbard 6'1 2021 Riordan HS.

This long armed prospect has good handles and showed his ability to get to the rim and finish in a variety of ways. A willing passer, did a nice job of pushing the ball in transition and finding the right player for the finish.

Cort Ballinger 5'9 2021 Bishop Manogue Catholic HS.

Brings intensity to the court. If you want to play at a fast pace this prospect fits right in, he pushed the ball in transition every time he touched it. He's a willing passer, and he attacks at every opportunity. He shoots the 3pt shot also.

JJ Langford III 6'0 2021 Morea HS.

Keep an eye on this prospect . He didn't make the top 20 game , but he did enough to get my attention. Good handles, attacks the rim with aggression when he knows he can't be stopped. Can hit the 3 pt shot. Good speed and intensity.
