Wright's Basketball Report. NorCal Players At The 2019 Fullcourt Press All West Camp

The All West Camp at Cerritos College (Norwalk Ca) run by Dinos Trigonis is over. There was a good number of prospects who competed at this event from Nor Cal. I have chosen these five prospect to give my analysis and thoughts on.

Isa Silva 6'4 2021 Jesuit (Carmichael Ca)

One of the top play making guards in Nor Cal continues to showcase his creative passing skills by finding team mates on numerous occasions for baskets. He has a good feel for the game and moves with a pace that is of higher levels right now. He continues to be a threat with his 3 point shooting, he often hit open threes on the catch and shoot as well as the one dribble shot in rhythm.

Grant Tull 6'5 2021 Gridley H.S (Gridley Ca)

This prospect does some of everything. He could be called versatile on some teams, he's a team player willing to do what he can for the good of the team. His handles are good enough to lead the transition break, his unselfish passing was noticeable and he worked his way around the post area with good foot work and finishing around the basket with both hands. He managed to grab his share of rebounds too.

Cameron Walker 5'10 2021 Turlock (Ca)

The speedy point guard has handles, and some nice stop and go moves. He's a good finisher around the basket when he gets into the paint, often stopping on two, or managing to slice through for some good looking baskets, or the dump off to a team-mate. His speed in transition, and ability to pass the ball up efficiently had his team-mates aggressively filling the lanes.

Jaden Phillips 6'4 2021 Modesto Christian (Modesto Ca)

His game seems to be maturing, he let the action come to him. When he did, he looked really good knocking down the mid-range jumper and making good decisions when he had the ball. He was constantly moving with purpose when he didn't have the ball to help create space and oh yeah he's a capable point guard.

Justice Owens 5'9 Pioneer H.S (San Jose Ca)

Every now and then there's a prospect that grabs the attention of an evaluator like myself at these type of events. Justice is the one. This quick 5'9 point guard with play making skills has the ability to take over a game. His quickness with ball, and ability to avoid contact while moving toward the basket was impressive. His size and passing skills in transition, and half court sets probably makes him a pass first point guard, but make no mistake he has the ability to go on spurts and take over a game. He knocks down 3 pointers with consistency well behind the line. A growth spurt and some weight gain this 2021 prospect will garner some attention.

I will have more player analysis and evaluations from this event. If you have any comments or suggestions about basketball: Email at wrightsbasketball@gmail.com
