Wright's Basketball Scouting and Evaluation was at the second day of the GIBT for round two of one of the longest running tournaments in Northern California. The 8 team format began on Thursday. We saw action on Friday and we'll be here for four games on Saturday to see the championship game between Salesian College Prep and Modesto Christian, two of NorCal's top programs.

Modesto Christian 65, Dublin 52

Modesto Christian still short handed took down a game Dublin squad. Trevor Dickson 6'5 Shooting Guard, working the point, and putting up shots led the Crusaders in scoring 23 points. Freshman Somto Patrick 6'9 put up 16 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 blocks to continues to blend his talents finding ways to help this team. He was good around the basket.

Dublin comes to compete, what they lack in size and star power, they have a group of guys who play hard, and compete. They won't be an easy game for opponents in the EBAL. Newcomers Izaiyah Romero 6'2 guard showed good strength and explosiveness around the basket scored 16pts, while Maakan Anvari 6'2 an undersized post player adds muscle and hard work in the paint. Nick Lee 15pts, and Senior guard Aiden Li make up an underrated backcourt. For this group, anyone could be the leading scorer, on any given night.

Salesian College Prep 74, Folsom 68

The Pride will face Modesto Christian in the Gridley Finals tonight. Elias Obenyah the Stanford commit showed why he's the top player in Northern California with his workman like 26 points, along with efficient shot making as he preps his game for college level. He has some winning to do first. He'll have help from Carlton Perrilliat 14pts. The 6'5 footballer transitions to basketball faster than most. He put up at least 3 (2 and 1's) muscling his way to the basket, while sharpening his hoop skill set, and Isaiah Davis 14 points, steady play, and hounding ball handlers were key components as well as the all around play of Senior Leon Powe. Salesian goes 11, or 12 deep by my count.

Folsom ranks as one of Northern California better teams with Joven Dulay the 6'5 shooting guard/wing headed to Idaho St, dropped 7-3 pointers from all over the place for 25 points. Super Soph Parks Weaver sat the second quarter with 3 fouls. He showed why he's a top prospect in the NorCal class of 2028 with his on court skill set, finished with 15 points all in the second half. We can't forget about Alec Day headed to Menlo College scored 14 points, continues to impress with his all around play. Kellen Garcia a 6'7 2027 and growing, put himself on our need to see more, with his play.

Clovis North handed St. Mary's a 79-44 defeat, behind the hot shooting of Miles Tucker 5'9 2027 guard dropped 5-3's, McKae Amundsen the Idaho St commit had 17 pts, and Elias Gish, the 6'7 prospect produced a good all around game with 18pts in different ways.

St. Mary's had a couple of players who put up good numbers Junior Donovan Mikel scored 18pts, 5'11 Soph Mathias Yonas had 11

Branson raced past host Gridley 63- 20. NorCal's top prospect in the class of 2027, NJ Gray showed off his vision and point guard skills regularly finding teammates for assists, dump offs, and spot ups. He had 19 points and probably 10 assist by our count. Gabe Halbrecht 6'2 junior guard chipped in with 11 points.

Todays Game Schedule:

Salesian College Prep vs Modesto Christian for the Championship @ 6:30

Folsom vs Dublin for 3rd place @ 5:00

Clovis North vs Branson @ 3:30

St. Mary's vs Gridley @ 2:00
