Team Lillard 15u Fab48 Champions

I traveled to Las Vegas during the July "live" period to scout and evaluate Nor Cal players. There were many teams from Nor Cal that participated in the big 3 tournaments in Vegas. The Fab48, The Bigfoot Classic, and the new tournament The Rebound Hoops. I couldn't see all the teams and players from Nor Cal compete because of scheduling and the logistics of three tournaments all being played at the same time.

Congratulations to Team Lillard,

Fab48 15u Invite Division Champions. I saw this team play in April, I was impressed by the talent and the way they played as a team. They played smart, unselfish basketball. Everyone seems to have found a way to contribute to the success of this team. Here we are at the end of July and they're still using talent, and playing unselfish team basketball to win games. They won a very tough 15u title at the Fab48 in Vegas this past weekend against Nightrydas Elite 15u a team from Florida. On paper the Nightrydas had all the advantages size, strength, and athleticism. That's why we play the game! Team Lillard 15u wins 61-51. All players deserve some recognition for a good team win. Here are my standouts from Team Lillard this past weekend in Vegas.

Caden Flowers /2021/5'11 /point-guard. Caden goes to Capital Christian High School in Elk Grove, CA. He did an excellent job of being this teams primary ball handler. Caden is tuned into the game the whole time, he's a heads up player that looks to capitalize on the other teams mistakes. He can penetrate to the basket and draw fouls, he has a solid mid-range shot and his decision making keeps the coach happy.

Geronimo Rubio /2021/6'3/shooting guard. Geronimo goes to Brookside Christian High School in Stockton, CA. This prospect likes to play fast and in the open court. When he has the ball in his hand he decides quickly whether he's going to take his man off the dribble or use his mid-range shot, either way he was very effective. In half court he was more of a slasher and moved well without the ball. He has good speed and quickness.

Jeremiah Dargan /2022/6'3/guard. Jeremiah will attend De La Salle High School in Dublin, CA. I'm always impressed when a younger player can play with the older guys, sometimes there's pressure to prove you belong on the same court. Jeremiah doesn't play that way, Ive seen him play several games this summer. He comes off the bench for Team Lillard. He's confident in what he can do on the court, at 6'3 he rebounds, plays solid defense and he doesn't turn the ball over. I think he's a player that will show over time that he can score in multiple ways when the opportunity presents itself. Jeremiah has the skills to take his man off the dribble and can use his mid-range shot to score. His ball handling skills allows him to play the point guard position, his rebounding allows him start the transition break.

Other notables players from Team Lillard 15u Sione Lose /2021/6'2/guard. Goes to Capital Christian in Elk Grove, CA. Darrion Williams /2022/6'4/wing player. Goes to Natomas Middle School in Sacramento, CA. Clayton Watson /2021/6'4/small forward. Goes to V. Sue Cleveland High School in Carson, CA.
