Nor Cal Prospects at The 2019 Pangos All-West Frosh/Soph Camp
I recently put out top Nor Cal prospects who played in the Cream of the Crop Game. These Nor Cal prospects competed and held their own at this event. Here's more prospects from the event.
Nathan Jean-Pierre 5'8 2022 Palma HS (Salinas Ca)
A pass first point guard, who can create his own shot with his quick bursts and effective first step. He can finish with both hands, and has good court vision. He's also a good passer looking for open teammates. He had some success with his mid-range jumper, and he did knock down some 3's. He changes directions quickly, has a good stop and go move, and has good lateral movement. He's hard to get past when he's locked in on defense.
Cole Webster 6'5 2022, Jesse Bethel (Valejo Ca)
This long arm prospect dropped a couple of 3's in the corner, he showed decent ability to attack the rim on the wings, and had good efforts filling the lanes in transition. He did okay rebounding. He lead the transition break with some successful passing and decision making. His defense was somewhat effective because of his length and ability to get deflections.
Isaiah Minor 6'2 2022, Woodside HS, (Woodside Ca)
This combo guard played consistent basketball in all three games I observed him play in. He demonstrated his ability to score with mid-range jumpers and 3pt shots from the wings and corner spots. His baseline drives were effective, and as a guard he played the post area well by posting up and rebounding.
Jordan Lee 5'11 2023, Bishop O'Dowd (Oakland Ca)
This lefty started the event trying to do too much, but settled in and became a more effective player. His ball handling skills are in line with other point guards. He did a good job of having patience and balancing the floor in the half-court. He had good hard drives using his cross over move to attack the basket, and he looks to get his teammates involved first. He did a good job on the pick and roll, and has good lift on his mid-range jumper. He's a good push guard in transition.
Derek Sangster 6'4 2023 Archbishop Mitty (San Jose Ca)
Long wiry prospect forced a number of turnovers with his long reach. He didn't score a lot, but did move well without the ball, he scored points in transition and being a slasher to the basket. He did show some ability to get some offensive rebounds and finish, and he had some success driving from the wings. His game will rise when he develops more of his offensive skills.
Tyler Harris 6'5 2023, Newark Memorial (Newark Ca)
As with many of these prospects in the 2023 class bodies are still growing and developing. This prospect was active, and he's athletic and kind of bouncy. He got himself a dunk in the open court because of his willingness to run the floor in transition. His ball handling skills need improvement, but he did have some success in the open court leading the break. His efforts going after rebounds was noticeable, and he did score. I will keep an eye on this one.
