The Top 30 Cream of the Crop contest had five players from NorCal; PJ Parker 6'9 2028 F/C took home overall Camp MVP. The rising Soph put together three solid performances in two days that landed him in the top 30 game on Sunday afternoon. Relatively new to the game of basketball, he played parts of his Freshman season at Sacramento High, he'll be at McClatchy High in Sacramento for the upcoming basketball season. He played the Spring, and Summer with Team California 15U. Standing 6'9 he continues to add pieces to his overall game on both ends of the court. His fundamentals, and footwork in the post area continues on an upward path. He has post presence on the defensive end as a shot blocker. He had 8pts, 3 rebounds, 2 blocks in the Top 30 Game.
NorCal Rising 2028 Prospects were selected to play in the Top 60, and 30 Games
Miles Cooper 5'11, College Park, and Jack Loevner 6'5, Archbishop Riordan were selected for the Top 60 Game. Cooper the do it all guard from College Park led his team to a 91-86 victory, and earned MOP of the Top 60 game led all scorers with 17 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists. he went for 35 points in a camp game.
Jack Loevner ran the point guard position often during regular camp games. At 6'5 he showed point guard skills, quality handles, excellent vision for passing, and taking good care of the ball. He uses his body well after getting into the paint, planting, playing off two feet, handling contact. His 11 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 steals, earned him MOP opposite of Cooper. Both were selected to play the Top 30 Game.
Tayshaun Bozeman 6'1 2028 Point Guard will play at Salesian College Prep this upcoming season. He shows speed, and quick twitch on both ends of the court. He should fit right in with Salesians defensive style of play. Lengthy arms, quick feet, lateral movement to stay close, harass, and trap handlers. He's a quality ball handler, doesn't need a lot of space to slip by defenders to get into the paint. He creates his own shot opportunities for himself, and others, he's a willing passer with vision. He knocked down floaters, mid-range jumpers off the dribble, and can hit the open 3-pointer.
Judah Van Ewijk 6'1 2029 Guard/Point Guard from Archbishop Riordan was the lone 2029 prospect from NorCal to participate in the Cream of the Crop Top 30 Game. Usually productive Freshman aren't in awe of playing at a higher level, or on the big stage. He had good composure, plays at a good pace. He runs the point guard position, handles ball pressure, takes care of the ball. He uses good moves, stop and go, change of direction getting into the paint for driving layups, some in traffic. He's got a clean jump shot he can hit off the dribble in the paint, from mid-range or dropping opens 3's at a good percentage. He's got foot speed to stay close and defend on ball.
