The 68th Annual GIBT Friday Recap

Gridley California home of the 68th Annual GIBT. One of the longest running tournaments in NorCal. On Friday Wright's Basketball Scouting was in the gym for this classic event featuring 7 teams from NorCal. Archbishop Riordan from San Francisco, Campolindo from Moraga, Clovis North from Fresno the only team not from NorCal, they're from Central Cali, Salesian Prep from Richmond, The Branson from Ross, Dublin from Dublin, Oakland Tech from Oakland, and the host Gridley from Gridley.

The 4;00 game in the consolation bracket had Dublin bouncing back from Thursdays loss to Clovis North. Handing Oakland Tech the loss 65-50. Courtney Anderson Jr the 6'5 Colorado commit dropped 22pts, while Mehki Thomas the 6'5 unsigned 2023 guard contributed 15pts, 5rebs, and solid play by 6'0 2023 unsigned PG Donovan Cooks, and Jalen Stokes a 6'4 2025 guard. Cameron Anderson the 6'7 2026 did some good things. Oakland Tech continues to get good play out of Ahmaree Muhammad 5'10 2023 Guard 11pts. This is a team you're probably not going to want to play against later in the season.

The 5;30 Game in consolation play had The Branson rolling to a decisive win over the host Gridley 77-39. The Branson will have a much more difficult time on Saturday in the consolation final against Dublin. Semetri Carr 6'0 2025 PG and Jase Butler 6'4 2024 guard combined for 26pts in this one sided affair, while George Gale 6'6 2023 W/F and Finley Keefe 6'5 2024 W/F looked good playing together. We also got a look at the Freshman Jojo Hammond and DJ Armstrong who saw good minutes in this one.

The 7;00 Game, The first Semi-final. Salesian Prep 55, and Clovis North 53 was probably the best game of the day. Clovis North dropped seven 3 pointers to take a 35-22 lead at the half. Salesian went on a 19-2 run in the 3rd quarter to even things out by the end of the third, the game was tied at 43. Salesian's Aaron Claytor the 6'3 2024 PG transfer from Hawaii thrives on setting up teammates including Alvin Loving 6'3 2025 SG, and Amani Johnson 6'3 2024 SG, while Emerson Jones the 6'5 2023 bouncy W/F was cleaning up the glass, and scoring inside. He had 15pts and 5rebs. Jaylen Bryant the 6'3 2023 unsigned Senior for Clovis North had five blocks in the 3rd qtr 7 total. The hot shooting from Loukas Jones 6'3 2025 SG, and the Freshman Elias Gish 6'3 2026 SG can't go unnoticed.

The 8;30 game, Campolindo played it's way into the championship game knocking off Riordan 54-51. Logan Robeson the 6'3 2023 unsigned Senior went for 24pts, while Shane O'Relly the 6'3 2023 unsigned SG had four long 3ptrs to end with 16pts on the night. Riordan's Christian Wise 6'6 2023 Forward registered one rebound shy of a double, double with 13, and 9. King-Jhsanni Wilhite the teams leading scorer last season had 13pts, and the rising 2025 prospect Jasir Rencher contributed 11pts, 4rebs. They'll have to forget this one and get ready for Clovis North for the 3rd place game tomorrow.
